I'm grateful for the men in my life who have served in the military. There were a few:
 |
| My Grandpa Yates.... who bestowed us with "thick legs" and gassiness |
 |
My Grandpa Western.... who gave us a love of ice cream and gardens
But most of all, my Dad. Who is incredibly handsome, don't ya think? No wonder my mom fell for him!
My dad has had a huge influence in my life, here are a few things he's taught me:
1. Marines are the best. No argument. AND their song is the best one too. Don't argue with me, Air Force!
2. Absolute selflessness.
3. My dad is the most charitable and giving man I have ever met.
4. A love for pork and beans
5. A strong dislike of stupidity
6. No matter what I've done, even if it's my fault, he's got my back
7. As long as I have enough gas money to get to my parent's house, everything will be okay
8. Love of tomatoes
9. How to work hard
10. No matter what's wrong, it could always be worse and it will get better
11. Hot dogs and fried potatoes are awfully tasty
12. How to logically think something through
13. Some assembly required skills
14. He gave me his brown eyes....I'm the only one. ;)
15. How to tell a good joke
16. Salt makes it taste better
17. How to build a fire
18. How to catch a fish, gut it, and cook it on the fire
19. He loves me. ALOT.
The only thing I WISH my dad had given me is his metabolism. Oh well. I got the brown eyes!

Amen SISTER. I called dad yesterday on the Marine Corp. b-day. Dido on the list except 11&14. Also I didn't get his metabolism either. Mom's prayers that we wouldn't have his bow legs X out the metabolism. Instead we got Gpa Yates' legs.
Love you Gpas & dad,
VA.
