You know a dream is like a river
Ever changin' as it flows
And a dreamer's just a vessel
That must follow where it goes
Trying to learn from what's behind you
And never knowing what's in store
Makes each day a constant battle
Just to stay between the shores
Too many times we stand aside
And let the waters slip away
'Til what we put off 'til tomorrow
Has now become today
So don't you sit upon the shoreline
And say you're satisfied
Choose to chance the rapids
And dare to dance the tide
There's bound to be rough waters
And I know I'll take some falls
But with the good Lord as my captain
I can make it through them all
On my way into work tonight, I heard this song on the radio. It's "The River" by Garth Brooks. Now, I am not a fan of this man. I normally do not listen to his music. I don't know why, but I really liked this song. It spoke to me. I didn't really like the chorus though, so I took it out. :) I must be coming out of my religious funk a bit because I really like the last part.
Speaking of religion....Jesse, if you are reading this I want you to know how much I love you and admire you. You are an amazing man. What you have done in the last year is remarkable and I am so proud to say that you are my bubba. (Although, if you want to get technical, my feelings for you haven't changed just because of your decisions. I have always felt this way.) I have always looked up to you and I have always been your biggest fan. I thought by the time I was 30 and had kids of my own I wouldn't think you were such hot stuff, but I was wrong. We were thinking of you and Susan on Friday, and we wished that we could be there. We will be at the sealing in October. I love you.

I love Garth Brooks, but not as much as I love Barbara Streisand.
Nice work!

I also love Garth. That is a great song, I agree.
