All Mama's need a day out. Preferably with their own big mama's. My momma doesn't even resemble the big mama of my youth, but I'm not complaining. I would never complain when she is buying. It's the least I can do.
I decided to come for a visit yesterday afternoon. I decided to come for a few hours and come back home after dinner. I couldn't pull myself away from the comforts of my parents home to return to my own filthy house and smelly husband.
It's 4 pm the next day and I am still here. I am obliging my brothers dreams by blogging in front of him. He sits here in awe. It truly is a spectacle to see. It rivals the inauguration from this morning. Obama has nothing on me.
After we watched our new president (I was a titch misty eyed with patriotic pride) my mother made a wonderful proclamation:
"Jenny, we can do whatever you want to do today. What will it be?"
My parents wouldn't be forced to host me and my unruly children if they would learn not to say things like this. It keeps me coming back.
My children ran around us yelling "Maca's McDonald's! Maca's McDonald's!" Now, I was thinking Panda Express....but I am a giver. And feeling very Democratic from the inauguration, I gave in to the pleas of the people. McDonald's it was.
After that we decided to walk around the Mall. This is where the bounty unloaded into my grateful lap. Sales were everywhere and I ended up with a complete outfit. Pants, shirt and shoes. (I was a titch misty eyed with gratitude.) I cannot remember the last new outfit I bought....oh wait. It was the LAST time I made the voyage to my mamma's house. She bought then too.
I love a day out.

Moms are the best. I am flying out tomorrow to go back to Arizona for hair and I am so stoked to see my mom. I just wanted to drop you a little note to tell you I love you and I am thankful for you. I reread some emails I had in a folder titled 'jen'. It was from a couple years ago and it was very sweet advice you had given me. I am so grateful to know you. Don't work too hard I will call you when I get back.
Hey Aunt Jen, I think you misunderstood what I was saying about Tuesday. I was just saying how I was real nice on Monday but then came Tuesday and I didn't have to be nice anymore, MLK day was over. I am excited to see your new jeans and discuss options for you hair. I kind of have an idea so I am bringing home some color! Feel free to Veto my plans but I'm thinking Auntie Jen might need some high lights! Just something to make you feel spicy again! Love you :)
