Under the knife...

As you know from reading my previous post from a few weeks ago, Halle had her adenoids removed on Monday. You didn't read it? Well.....Halle had her adenoids removed on Monday.

She was nervous. We went to the pre-surgery class last Thursday and the kids had "medical play" with some life specialist something-or-other. Jack came home looking like this:

They made hospital buddies and had a great time.

On Monday, Halle and Ernie and I all went to the hospital for the real thing. She was nervous. And hungry. It only took about 30 minutes in the OR and she did great! No problems at all. She won the award for the biggest adenoids of the day! She came home and ate normally, behaved normally, and didn't even have a nap.

Well...there was ONE incident. In the middle of the night Halle heard Piper crying. Piper only cries if she needs something. I had drugged Halle pretty well before bed so she would have a good night. Halle got up, and found that Piper was out of food. So she filled her bowl. Halle was talking to Piper and Piper meowed back. I heard all kind of noises and then Halle came to me and said:

"Mommy....Mommy....I filled Pipers bowl up. But I was dizzy and I made a mountain."

I had no idea what she was talking about. I said:

"It's fine honey. Crawl back in my bed. Do you hurt?"

Then this morning I found this:

If you look closely, you can see the silver edge of the food bowl.

Mountain indeed.

I'm glad Halle's surgery went well, but I'm laughing at her "mountain"! I knew what was coming as I was reading! It's the thought that counts, though, right?

Hi there! This has nothing to do with this post, but did you happen to get your blog title from the book, "Running with Angels"? I am currently reading the book and when I read something on pg. 116--I instantly thought of your blog. Hope you are having a good day!

I've never read "Running with Angels." Is it good? I'm always looking for a good book!

Years ago my really good friend Kim called me and said "I saw this guys shirt today that said Living the Dream! It had been crossed out and over it had been written Surviving Plan B! I instantly thought of you!!!"

We agreed that it fit, and so I used it as my title.

I'm flattered you even remembered my blog name, especially since I am not sure who you are! Who are you? :)

I am dying laughing that Halle tried to feed Piper....what a big heart she has. Do you think her heart is as big as her adenoids were? :) love you. Oh and I'm also excited for your big move and hello!!! Living next to a tomato farm? that is freaking fun!!!
