The best.

I sit here on Mother's Day Eve.

My children are so excited for tomorrow that they struggled to fall asleep.

My special breakfast is hiding in the microwave so I won't find it.  The milk has already been poured...

Their gifts from school are hidden under their beds, ready to be delivered.

The makings of a special dinner are in the fridge.

And as excited as I am about tomorrow, and all the joy and love my children will have when they present me with these things, I can't help but think about my favorite Mothers Day.

It was 2002.

I woke up that Mother's Day hurting.  I had a goopy incision.  I had leaky breasts.  I had intense cramping.  I had shoulder and back pain.

I had a day old baby in my arms.

I had begged for that baby.  I lived and breathed nothing but her for nine months.  I have never been happier.

My life began the day I became a mother.

And I am forever grateful for the opportunity.

Me too! Nothing better than being a mom. That's what I told Shane last night as we were falling asleep..."I just love being a mom." and he just said, "I know." I really wonder how some people don't like it and it makes me sad. It truly is divine. Happy Mother's day!
