Lovebird Tag

I got tagged awhile ago for this one, but saved it for now.

I bet Greg that he couldn't answer all the questions right...and he foolishly took the bet.  You would think that after 13 years he would learn that I AM ALWAYS RIGHT!

Greg's answers are in blue, mine in red.
1. Where did you and your husband meet?  Internet
We met online the first part of 1999.  In February.  You know, back when everyone wasn't meeting online.  It was actually kind of embarrassing to admit that to people.  Anyway, back then there wasn't LDS Singles or any such thing.  AOL ruled supreme, and as (paying!) member of AOL, you were able to make a profile.  These profiles were searchable.  One learned to include key terms like "LDS" in one's profile.  Greg IMed me one night.  He said "Hi."  I don't know why, but I saved a few of our chats from before we met.  What's that?  You want to read one?  Okay!

I like this one from March 3rd:

Lug73- So are you smiling right now?
Diggie 113- Maybe.
Lug73- From your pic I can tell you have a beautiful one.
Diggie 113- I haven't even met you yet...
Lug73- I hope I am not a disappointment when we meet.
Diggie113- What makes you think I'll be disappointed?
Lug73- I don't know just that meeting is the final step in actually meeting someone.  So you really can't have a first impression until we meet.  That's all.
Diggie113-  So there's nothing horribly wrong with you?  :)
Lug73- Not at all.  I am just your average run of the mill 6'10" boy.
Diggie113-  I've never met someone that tall before.

I really like this one from April 4th.  We had met.

Lug73- How you doing?
Diggie 113- Good, how are you?
Lug73- I am fine the weather was terrible I could not see 4 feet in front of me.
Diggie113- Where did it get bad?
Lug73-  Bountiful.  I had it in 4 wheel drive all the way to Lehi.  Everyone was sliding down the road and all I could think of was you.

(Oh my gosh, reading these again made me laugh so hard.  He was such a goober.  ;))

2. 1st thing said...  Hi
Honestly, who knows.  It was a very long time ago.

3. 1st date.. February 12
It was March 12th.  He's wrong.  BUT!  The 12th is harder to remember than the month, and since he got that right I'm going to give him credit.  We had this date planned for Saturday the 13th.  We were going to the planetarium.  At the time, my sister lived in American Fork so I came down on Friday to stay with her.  The anticipation and anxiety for the next night were too much so to ease the tension, Greg came and picked me up the night before.  I was wearing my pajamas, and my hair was in a messy pony tail.  He took me to 7-11 and bought me a chocolate donut.  Then we went to his house to watch The Dating Game.  We had watched it together on the phone numerous times before.  He was so tall I remember thinking "Nope.  This is not going to work."

4. 1st kiss... same date
Wrong again.  It was the next night.  You know, after he gave me the pathetic line of "I'm scared of the dark, will you hold my hand?" in the planetarium.  Ugh.  After that date we watched a movie in the above mentioned basement.  He totally wanted to kiss me.  And I totally didn't want to, so I said "Don't kiss me, okay?"  And then later I KISSED HIM.  I don't know.  It's like I was taken over by aliens.  Or something.

5. Long or Short Courtship/Engagement... long
When he said long I cracked up.  It wasn't long.  Maybe for him it was.  We met online in February.  In person in March.  Engaged in June.  And married September 3rd.

6. Where did you get engaged?  my house
Yep, his house.  We had started writing poems for each other.  They were quirky and fun.  I drove to Lindon from Ogden with a good hunch that he was going to propose.  We were alone, and he got down on one knee and read me a poem he wrote.  It was awesome.  I laughed and said yes.  The ring was gorgeous.  He mother called on the phone the entire time wondering if he had done it yet.  So the phone ringing in the background is a funny memory.  What's that?  You want to hear the poem?  Okay.

Every good thing must have a start
There is no other, just you in my heart
On this day I give you this rose
It is quite pleasing to the nose
By the day my love grows stronger for you
I want to start my life anew
So I give you this ring to be my wife
Than you so much for completing my life
Every good thing must have a start
I promise right now I will always do my part.
Will you marry me?

Which I have to admit was better than this one he wrote later...in June.

I can't wait for September 3rd to come,
I hope my body does not go numb.
In California I hope it doesn't rain or pour
but if it does we could stay in our room and score
Just one thing you must remember
We will be husband and wife come September.

Ha!  Oh my.

7. Where were you married? American Fork Temple
Geez.  Mt. Timpanogos Temple.  It was a gorgeous day.  I ran late that morning.  Greg and Grandpa Garrett beat me there by quite awhile.  I think he wondered if I was going to stand him up.  I wasn't.  It was destiny.

8. How did the reception go?  awesome
It really was awesome.  It was at the Alpine Arts Center, and it was gorgeous.  Dancing, yummy cake, and lots of great memories.  What's that?  You want to see the video?  You'll have to come over.

9. Where did you go on your honeymoon? Disneyland
Best vacation ever.  I had never been to Disneyland before.  It was magical and so much fun.  I loved every minute of it.

10. Do you have a song? That All Night song.
One Night at a Time by George Strait.  Greg knew before I did that we were going to get married.  I wasn't so sure.  We decided to go on a road trip while we were dating.  So we loaded up the Bronco and drove to Boise to spend the weekend with Ruby and Chris.  On our way home, I was laying on his lap as he drove.  He turned this song on and sang it to me.  And that was the moment I fell in love with him.  That was the moment I knew we were going to get married too.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

By the way, I tag Holly, Krystle, Nicole, Natalie, Kim and Dixie.   You know you wanna do it too!
