I thought it was perfect. His Uncle Jesse loves him and happens to be ski patrol at Powder. He also happens to have a best-cousin who is a new skier too. Chiara. Jack and Chiara, what a pair. Love that they have each other here in Ogden. Love that they have sat by each other in class and play with each other at recess every day of 3rd grade. And 2nd, and 1st. They need each other. I'm so grateful that I have her in my home often on weekends.
Every year Jesse does a ski trip. It started years ago when Jesse went to Jackson with his friends and skied all the resorts along the way. Now it's evolved into a few resorts with his kids.
Guess who is on ski weekend right now?
Having an amazing time on a new adventure..
Jack.
Guess who is at home anxiously awaiting a text?
Half thrilled that he's having too much fun to call me, and half wondering why.
Me.
I guess it's an adventure for me too. Jack is a Mommas-boy. He has been really shy and has always depended on Halle to help him do things. Going on this trip without me or Halle was a big step. He was nervous. When the day came to leave (Wednesday) he was so excited. He didn't think twice about me. He grabbed his backpack, and jumped into the Jeep. Waved out the back window.
My kids are growing up. It's going to be harder on me then them.
Thank goodness Jesse sends a few pictures.
I can't wait to have him home and hear his stories.
