Our favorite picture. Thanks to Holly for snapping it one day. It's priceless to us now.
A rare glimpse of Sage with her halo. She really was an angel dog. She was loving, sweet and gentle.
Sage went to Show and Tell a few times. Of course she got dressed up for it. I super glued those bows in her hair and I had a really hard time because she kept trying to lick my face while I did it.
She wasn't super fond of being petted and snuggled, but wanted to be close. Always in the same room.
She was super tolerant of everything we did to her. Play with dinosaurs? Sure. Let the kittens sleep between her front legs? Yep. Let the babies that visited poke her in the eye? Ok.
There was a lot of this in the last few years.
Oh! And she ate the sweater and had to go to the vet. Then a few months later she puked the sweater back up. It was something else. Blog post about it HERE.
So cute. This was her trick. She sat up. And wore scarfs.
We were the first house she lived it that had kids. She thoroughly enjoyed them. Even if they were exhausting...
Sage would smell you if you were sick. She would lay next to you and every few hours get up to smell you. It was comforting. In a wet way.
We really REALLY loved her.
More show and tell...
Sage LOVED to go camping. This was the trip that we almost got killed by the Chickacabra. The story is HERE.
Sage loved the snow. And she loved drinking puddles of the sidewalk even more.
And the cats all loved her. She tolerated them. Stix ESPECIALLY loved her. I think Stix came to get her spirit. They put Sage to sleep in the back of our car so she wouldn't have to go inside and be scared. As she took her last deep breath, the wind blew and back door of my Tahoe blew closed and smacked me in the head. I think it was Stix coming. Excitedly. If I'm right, Sage must wonder what she did to deserve spending eternity with that black cat.
Can I have a bite of that? For the last 3-4 months, I have given her anything she wants. She had chocolate milk 2 nights ago. What could it hurt at that point?
Sage always had a limp, and a funky way of walking. Here she comes...
Getting closer...
Here she is!
She slept in all of our rooms at different times. She couldn't decide whom she loved the most. I secretly think it was me. :)
Goodbye sweet girl! We'll see you again one day!
