My wolf cubs

Man I love them.  We performed this snazzy skit for Pack Meeting last night.  It was kind of a big deal.  Jack and one of my favorite other scouts received their Wolf badges with a gold and two silver arrow points and have gone on to Bears.  It makes me sad, and I MAY have cried a few tears in the back of the room.  As a bonus, we have two new wolves and they both earned their Bobcat Badges last night.  I love having my honorary scout Halle with us, she is such a huge help to me.  Plus she's brave and led these scout in their song.  They were all a little too scared to go out there and do it, so Halle volunteered to go with them.  Mostly, I am grateful for my other leader Colleen.  She is awesome and I love having her.  Now that she's retired, she can spend even MORE time with me doing scout stuff!  Not only is she funny, and we clicked immediately, but her husband has a complete wood shop out back and she does face painting.  It doesn't get any better than that, folks.

My boys work hard and we do awesome things.  I am so proud of them.  Plus this video cracks me up.  I should have brought my real video camera, but it wasn't charged.  It's also a bit jiggly.  I was making frantic hand motions in the back to get them to stop and then howl.

You may wonder what song this even is.  I'll tell you, it's an Apache Welcome song and we learned it off YouTube.  That's where all the cool Native American songs are.  One time I made Colleen do an Indian dance and sing this song by herself.  It was so funny that I may have peed my pants just a bit.

Jack receiving his Wolf.

I'm going to really miss these boys.

Halle was my photographer...
You may notice that I am not wearing my scout blouse.  That's because I was protesting.  Not all is rosy in scout land and I have a beef with the Scout Commissioner.  He thinks that we shouldn't let the boys participate if they don't have scout shirts on.  I think that's a bunch of crap, and walked out of that meeting.  See Colleen in the back with her red face painting apron on?  She wanted to paint my protest on my face.

Maybe next time.
